The Chicro is made overseas and we don’t hide that fact. Chicro literally means "Chinese Micro" and that’s our way of poking fun out ourselves and this overshore product line.
Making the Chicro domestically proved unsustainable due to high costs that would drive up the price. For a small admin tool, this is not needed and few would purchase a light of this size at this price point. Many items, from batteries to cell phones, are made offshore for this reason. Faced with the choice of producing a domestically made admin tool at higher price or offering a similar product at an affordable price, we chose the latter. We partnered with an offshore manufacturer to create the high-quality Chicro, using our in-house design and specs, and backed by our lifetime warranty. This enables us to focus resources on USA made products and new product development.
The Chicro and Chicro XL are incredibly powerful for their size, but they are administrative tools at the end of the day. If you press the switch, the light turns on at 350 lumens (500 lumnes for Chicro XL). If you tap the switch again, it cycles down to only 10% output, at around 35 lumens (50 lumens Chicro XL). Every time you tap the switch, the alternate mode engages. Super simple and both lights have momentary and constant-on functionality.
Absolutely. We designed the pocket clip and the light body to be reversible. Meaning you can pop the clip off the light body and reverse its position. When you do that, you can now clip that light to the front of your hat or whatever else is around. Chicros are versatile.
We put a small hole there for a small split ring in the event you want to mount this to something (keychain, backpacks, etc.) via a small ring.
No it does not. The output would be absurdly low. The future is a rechargeable one and as you know, Cloud generally embraces that. 10440 batteries are cheap and pervasive, but with great run-times and an integrated recharge port, you never have to take the battery out unless you want to.
The Chicro ships with a USB to USB-C cord. However, you can generally use any USB-C plug you have around the house. The use of "lightning chargers" or "quick charger" charging blocks are not recommended. The Chicro is already a fast charging light using a standard charge block or other USB compatible device such as your computer or vehicle USB port.
Super easy.
1) Ensure the battery is in the light with the positive terminal towards the light head.
2) Ensure the light is assembled.
3) Plug the USB-C cord into the light head.
4) Then click the tail cap switch. NOTE: YOU MUST CLICK THE SWITCH OR THE LIGHT WILL
NOT CHARGE. After clicking, the charge-indicator light should be solid-red, indicating
charge mode. When the light is charged, the charge indicator light will turn green.
5) Unplug from the USB-C and you are good to go.
